Washington DC Day 1

I just got back from my trip to DC! It was so much fun, and I wish that I was there even longer, but I guess I'll just have to go back. I'm going to write about each day, because we did so much everyday that it would be hard to write about it all in one post.

Day 1:

Of course I had to take a picture with the London mailbox :)
Day 1 poured the entire day!
Day 1: The first stop we made was the National Postal Museum. I had never been to this museum before, and really wanted to this time around. We did and it was a really cool museum. I love that the museums are so interactive as well as educational. We learned a lot about the evolution of stamps and mail. It was so fun!

 The Naval Memorial
We went to Ford's Theatre. This is where Pres. Lincoln was shot.
 FBI building

We took a tour of the Capitol building. This is probably one of my favorite things in all of D.C. The rotunda was under some serious renovation, so that was kind of a bummer but it was still as beautiful as ever.
Camille and I in the dome.

 The old Senate room.
The very center of DC and the Capitol building. All of DC is measured from this point.

Like I said, the dome is under construction, but it was still so much fun to take a tour!
You see these guys all over the Capitol

We went to the Supreme Court building and had fun taking pictures.
We got a selfie stick for this trip and it was just what we needed. Also, the doors of this building are absolutely incredible!

So that sums up day 1 pretty well. We did a lot of walking just trying to get our bearings straight. We were much more productive with our time after this day!

Love,

Rach
