Patience

I can't believe we are in the middle of May! The Spring seems to be going fast and slow, I can't decide which. That's not to say that it hasn't been good. I have done a lot. However, there have been some things that have been hard to deal with. They aren't going to get any easier, but this morning as I was reading my scriptures, I read Alma 34:40-41. For some reason this verse really hit me this morning.

" And now my beloved brethren, I would exhort you to have patience, and that ye bear with all manner of afflictions; that ye do not revile against those who do cast you out because of your exceeding poverty, lest ye become sinners like unto them;
But that ye have patience, and bear with those afflictions, with a firm hope that ye shall one day rest from all your afflictions."

We have all heard the saying that patience is a virtue. I would have to agree with that 100%. And it is definitely something that I need to work on. I am not a very patient person, and with some matters in my life I wish that they would just hurry up and happen. But this morning I had a realization of patience. I know that everything happens in a certain timetable and that I really have no control of when that is. It can be so hard and painful and just plain hard. For me, having patience is going to happen piece by piece. This could mean that I will have to remind myself daily, or even hourly. My goal this summer is to learn to be patient. I will be no expert at it, but maybe I'll have a little more trust in it.

Hope you all have a beautiful, rainy day!

Love,

Rach
