Today was the big day! Joseph received his mission call. It was really weird to see him open it, but we are really excited for him and can't wait!
He has been called to the Germany Berlin mission and reports to the Provo MTC Jun 18. He leaves the week before I do for my study abroad. I am so excited for him, and just can't believe that he is actually going on a mission!
Brandon, Joseph, and Chris. These are Joseph's best friends and it was fun to have them there to support him!
I am so grateful for Joseph! He has always been such a good example to me. I am proud of his decision to serve a mission, but will miss him a lot. I know that he will be an awesome missionary!
Mom, Joseph and Dad
Buddy loves his big brother. I was doing so well and didn't cry at all while Joseph read his call. But as soon as Michael got a picture with him, he made big eyes and a fake grin in order to hold his tears. Once he put down his smile the tears flowed. That made everyone tear up. It's amazing to see what a great influence Joseph is in our family. Michael will miss him a lot as will I and the rest of our family! When the tears rolled down my cheeks, Chris gave me a hug and then told Michael he would take care of him for a few months longer, while Joseph was gone. It was a bitter-sweet moment for all of us. I can't believe that I am old enough to be in college, have my little brother go on a mission, have a little sister dating and driving, another sister almost hitting the bright age of 14 and a little brother who turns 11.
Today was a big day. And while I don't think it has really hit us yet, June 18th will come in a jiffy and we will be at the curb in the MTC saying good bye for 2 years to a special family member! I love you Joseph and am so proud of you :) Go Germany!
Love,
Rach
