I am sorry I haven't posted in a while, I just need to download some pictures and then I will blog a real post again. But today I wanted to share my gratitude for music. I love music! I have grown up with music all around. We listened to a lot of classical when we were younger and I learned a lot of classical pieces when playing the piano. We grew up with lots of silly songs, and church songs, and oldies and a lot of other random and more common pieces of music.
Well this morning I woke up angry. I have been frustrated about a few things and I thought that enough sleep would help, but it didn't and I stormed off to class with this uneasy feeling of anger. In class I just felt sick, I was upset, and confused and frustrated and I just wanted to get out of there. As soon as class was over, I raced to work and turned on some church music. I listened to a few Broadway pieces from the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, some church songs from Vocal point, and some other peaceful music. It immediately calmed me and made me feel a little bit better. What I love about music is after I hear one piece, I remember another one and play that. So I have had a whole bunch of random music playing at work all morning long.
I love the scripture that says a song is a prayer of the heart. For me I feel the spirit a lot through music and it gives me great comfort. I am grateful that today it helped and that I can always turn on a church song and feel the immediate peace it gives me.
Love,
Rach
