Last Days in D.C

I know that I have been absolutely horrid at blogging lately. Here is the last of the D.C trip. Tuesday was our last day in D.C. We were so exhausted from the previous day, so we took it easy on Tuesday. We just finished up going to museums that we had missed. We started with the Holocaust Museum. It is probably one of my favorite museums, but it sure does not leave you with a peaceful feeling.

I find WWII history incredibly interesting. I just don't know how people can treat other people so horribly. It was very educational, and it left me wanting to be a better person and treat all different types of people with kindness.

Walked around the Library of Congress, it was so so hot!

Then we went to the Air and Space Museum. I think this museum is so cool, but I wish I knew about airplanes and space ships. We enjoyed walking through the museum and looking at all of the cool exhibits.

One of my favorite things that we did was the National Botanic Garden. They had a beautiful greenhouse with so many different types of flowers. It was absolutely beautiful. After we finished up at the gardens, we went back to Baltimore. It was a nice chill day and a great way to end our trip.

Coming home was a disaster. We left Johnny and Jenna's apartment super early to make sure we made it to the airport on time. When we got to the airport, our flight to Detroit kept getting delayed. We had a short connection in Detroit before going home to Salt Lake. Finally, the flight was so delayed due to weather that we would not be able to make our connecting flight. I had to get on the phone with a Delta representative and get everything sorted out. Camille had to be back the next morning for graduation. All of the flight options were to leave the following morning, there was nothing else until then. It was incredibly stressful and I told the person that we needed to be in Salt Lake tonight. She had to reroute us through a whole different airline and we left two hours later to get to Denver. We spent about 4 hours in the Baltimore airport, took a 5 hour plane to Denver, waited there for 2 hours and then an hour flight to Salt Lake. After about 12 hours of traveling it was nice to be home.

I love D.C and the East Coast. It was such a fun trip, and I am so grateful that Johnny and Jenna were willing to host us. I'll be back D.C!!

Love,

Rach
