Wonderful Weekend

This weekend was so great. I had such a great time, and I am so glad that I made it to the weekend. I took my Chinese test on Friday and I think it went all right, I don't really know how to judge it. But then Meg and I went to the football game. It was freezing cold and I do not have all of my winter clothes from home yet. But we stayed until a few minutes into the third quarter. I got to see Dad and Emma so that was fun. Friday was just chill, I was not feeling well and so we just came home and watched t.v. and I wrote letters to missionaries.

A funny sign at the game
Saturday was so great though. I went to volunteer at the hospital and it was so good. Then Ragan and I went shopping and I got a new outfit, although I am having second thoughts on a shirt I bought. After that I went with our stake and watched the Relief Society broadcast. It was so good. They talked a lot about keeping our baptismal and temple covenants. What I really liked is how they focused on keeping covenants that we haven't yet made, in order to prepare to make those covenants. When Pres. Monson got up to speak I had this overwhelming feeling that he was the leader of the church and that this church was true. It was so amazing. After that I came home and talked a lot to Amy and Sarah who live next door. When Meg got home we all went to a guys apartment and played an intense game of Settlers of Catan. It was so much fun. I have never played a game that was so close and so intense. It lasted us two hours, but we all had a blast!

One of the things that I love about living in Provo is the short walk to the Temple. Today I went on a walk and brought my camera to snap a few pictures. I love feeling the peace and serenity that is on the grounds of the temple. I have had a hard time finding the time to attend the temple, but it was very nice to just be on the grounds and feel the spirit and look at the beauty of it all. I am so grateful for the temple and the power that is associated with it. There was a group of missionaries there and I just love them even though I have no clue who they are. Missionaries hold a special place in my heart.

Also I love my roommates, Meg and Katelyn. We had a good discussion about the gospel today and it was so nice to talk to them about things that we had concerns with or how happy this gospel makes us! Megs and I have both struggled with the decision to go on a mission, but we were talking and realized how happy we are. We are not sure what life will throw us, but I know that there is a plan and that we will not be left alone. What a beautiful thought! I hope that everyone has a great week as we prepare for Conference and enjoy this weather. I love you all!

Love,

Rach
