Whew...Wow this weekend was incredibly crazy! Talk about everything that could go wrong just about did. Here's the deal with our home sweet home. The contract pays for cable tv and then each apartment has to get internet from Comcast or something like that. So Comcast gave us a cable box, and we assumed that that is what was supposed to happen. Apparently not, but we didn't find that out until today. So all weekend we have been on the phone basically 24/7 trying to get our tv working. It worked twice for about a half hour, and then would stop working and we would be on the phone with Comcast again.
Well Friday night we were *surprise surprise* on the phone with Comcast. Then the internet had a freak out for a little bit, then it came back on. Then Sunday we were trying to watch the CES fireside and we were on the phone with Comcast and they fixed it. It worked for about 30 min and then it shut off along with the internet. Except for this time, the internet didn't turn back on. Here we were, 4 stressing college students with deadlines and things to do on the internet, but we had no internet. We had a guy in our ward try to fix it, we unplugged everything, nothing worked. So after Meg and I finished our run this morning I called Comcast and our internet was turned on. This is when I found out that they don't do anything with our cable... we have to talk to management.
While on our run Meg and I both laughed and said something to the effect of, "now we just need to have our electricity go out or not have the water work." We joked about it and laughed. Later that morning I get a text from Meg with a picture and this saying, "Got this picture from Holly this morning. Really. We were totally joking about this and then seriously. This is some sick twisted irony!!!!" Guess what the picture was? Yep, you got it a picture that was a sign from Provo City telling us that our electricity would be turned off. OH MY HECK! I was laughing/trying not to cry/just wanting to go huddle in the corner. When I got home, Holly said that the power never went out. So cross your fingers that our power really doesn't get shut off. So that is my crazy insane weekend telling you all the joys of living in off-campus housing.
Love,
Rach
