Campus today :)
I love this song from the musical, Oklahoma! It is so happy, and speaks so much truth. Last year, when one of my friends or I would have a bad day, we would pull up youtube and play this song. That would lead us to playing more songs from musicals we liked and it ended up making us all happy. Well today was literally a beautiful morning and a beautiful day. Meg and I got up, went running and it was a bit chillier than usual. It felt so good, then as we were walking to school it was sunny with a slight breeze. Perfect temperature! It stayed like that all day, and I have been in love with it. It feels like fall, and that makes me extremely happy. And so far, this week has been outstanding. Yes, there is homework, but that is not going to get me down. Things that made me happy this week included, making probably our 10th batch of homemade salsa, weight lifting, hearing from my missionaries on Monday, getting a sweet text from Kenz, running, having maintenance fix our apartment problems, making some friends, anticipating the big rivalry this weekend, watching the season premiere of Bones, and many many other things. And it's only Wednesday. Now, this week has not been perfect. I was sick on Monday and Tuesday, it's been a little stressful, and other things have happened as well, but I can't wait to see what the rest of the week has to offer me.
One of my favorite talks was given last general conference. Elder Bruce D. Porter said, "Tribulation and difficult times may lie ahead, yet we too have cause for good cheer and rejoicing, for we live in the last dispensation, when God has restored His church and His kingdom to the earth in preparation for the return of His Son."
He goes on to say, "In the intervening years, that bright voice in a dark storm has become for me a symbol of what faith and hope are all about. Even in a darkening world, we as Latter-Day Saints may sing with joy, knowing that the powers of heaven are with God's Church and people. We may rejoice in the knowledge that a beautiful morning lies ahead-the dawn of the millennial day, when the Son of God shall rise in the East and reign again on the earth."

I love this talk, and I love being happy. I can't wait to see what this semester and year have to offer for me. Hope all is well with everyone else!
