Then we flew to a small city called Neijiang. This city is considered small in China, but has about 4.2 million people. This is the river that we walked on the first day there.
This was the tea house, or some building on the side of the river.
We went and walked around the university in Neijiang. It is much different than the universities we have here in America. It was really interesting to see the differences.
These apartment buildings are the dorms. They are very small so they can fit many students in. The water you can see is the swimming pool. I am not sure if they swim in it, but it was kind of gross.
They have this small little hut things that most of the students go to eat lunch. It is run down and probably not the most sanitary place, but apparently it is cheap and pretty tasty.
After the university we went to a Buddhist temple. This is the place where the pray and put some sort of smoke in the large iron tub thing.
My cousin and I by Buddha
The temple. It has many turtles in the pond. In China, turtles symbolize longevity, and long life.
Everyone wanted to get pictures with us, so we were constantly taking pictures with these chinese people, but this guy was very nice.
The food was interesting. This wasn't too bad, but we did get sick a little bit while we were in this city. The food is very spicy and oily.
This was probably my favorite part about being in Neijiang. We went and visited an elementary school. They were so excited to see us, they had never seen Americans before. They were are all really cute, and wanted us to know their names. This is them doing a dance for us at recess. Then we taught them how to play tag.
This is only day 1 of China. I have so many more pictures, so it might take a lot of posts with other posts in between. I am so glad that I got to go and I had so much fun! Hopefully I will stay up to date on blogging.
