Today I got to see all of my friends from high school. Gary had his farewell today and we all got together to support him. It is truly amazing to see all of these young men that I have grown up with prepare to serve the Lord. And now the awesome girls are now preparing as well! Gary gave a great talk and I am so grateful for his example to me. He is going to be a great missionary. We are going to have one last get together come March, our last weekend before he leaves. Then Nate will give his farewell soon and everyone will be off.
It is kind of sad, but today I was very happy. This whole me not going on a mission has been one of the hardest things that I have had to go through, but I am truly happy supporting my friends from home by praying for and writing them.
It never occurred to me how blessed I have been with my friends. The friends I made in high school and the friends now have truly been a blessing in my life. I could not have done many things without them and I will be forever in debt to them. Hopefully we will have a grand reunion in two years when everyone comes home. (maybe longer if I decide to go on a mission) But the Lord has watched out for me every step of the way and I am so so grateful for that. I love this church. It is a great thing to be a part of now as the missionary age changed and watch the many wonderful people bless the lives of others.
I saw a quote that I thought was really great, I don't know who it is by but it is awesome "Someone leaves their family for two years for others to be with theirs for eternity."
